Our online only class covers all state required topics plus more. You will complete 30 hours of classroom instruction online only. You have 90 days to finish your classwork! After completing you will contact us to schedule your permit test.
Our hybrid class is the other option for spring of 2018. Class will start March 13th and meet the 13th, 15th, 16th and 18th from 6:15-8:15. You will then complete your remaining 22 hours of classroom online. You also have 90 days to complete this. We are hoping this prevents conflicts with sports. The class will start exactly where you are supposed to be after our face to face class.
You are paying for the classroom only portion of your student. The remaining $275.00 for behind the wheel must be paid when you take your permit test. If you need other payment arrangements please let us know!
Keys Driving School is run and owned by Ron and Heidi Keys. Between the two of us we have several years of teaching students how to drive. Ron is currently a teacher at Chippewa Valley Technical College, formerly a teacher at Mondovi HIgh School where he started teaching drivers education. Heidi has had her driving instructor license for the last four years and is also the owner/event coordinator for The Barn at Mirror Lake. We pride ourselves in teaching your children how to learn not only the rules of the road but how to be respectful and courteous drivers. Along with drivers education in Mondovi, Drive with Keys in Arcadia is also available. Other areas we service are Gilmanton, Eleva-Strum, and Durand-Arkansaw school districts.
The state requires you to be 14 3/4 before you are able to start your classroom instruction and 15 1/2 to get your permit.
You are required to do 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind the wheel and 6 hours of driving.
When going to the DMV to get your permit you will need to bring the following: Registered copy of your birth certificate, your social security card and the MV3001 form that you get from us after completion of behind the wheel.
Our spring class this year will be starting on March 13th, 2018 This class is going to be the trial of our hybrid delivery method.
A hybrid class is where students meet with the instructor face to face for 8 classroom hours and then do the completion online. We have chosen to use this method for a couple of reasons:
1. We like to meet your student. It gives them a chance to meet with us before they have to spend time in the car.
2. Speakers.. At Keys Driving School we bring in some absolutely fantastic speakers on organ donation, sharing the road with semi's, texting and more. These are very important state required topics.
3.Kids ARE BUSY! With all the sports and extra curricular activities we know it is hard sometimes for your student to make all the classroom time so hybrid is a great option.
